SOGESCA for climate

On the climate side

“I am I plus my surroundings, and if I do not preserve the latter, I do not preserve myself.”

Sustainability for SOGESCA

Respecting man and the environment, SOGESCA has been committed to sustainability since its inception in 1986, when this word was not used as much as it is today.

Indeed, SOGESCA’s managers and engineers have always been driven by the belief that sustainability is an opportunity as well as a necessity. In 1992, our company was among the very first to immediately adopt the new approaches that emerged from the first UN conference in Rio de Janeiro.

Today sustainability has become an essential element also in business: finance and leaders of the production chains are making it a primary selection factor.

Do you want to learn more? Read the Taxonomy Regulation n. 852-2020, the starting point of this new approach supported by Directive 2464 of 16 December 2022.

In SOGESCA we follow the MARC approach of Etifor, a spin-off of the University of Padua specialized in the environmental field. MARC means:

1
Measure

We measure
our impacts

2
Avoid

We avoid
impacts

3
Risk

We reduce the risks of climate change

4
Capture

We support charismatic projects

SOGESCA's actions to reduce CO₂ emissions

SOGESCA’s primary goal in terms of sustainability is to become a zero impact (“carbon positive”) company by 2026.

Actions already achieved:

  • Use of 100% certified green energy
  • Reduction of paper documentation
  • Reduction of the air conditioning in the offices during winter and summer
  • Use of the least number of rooms
  • Use of remote work and meetings whenever possible
  • Green incentives for our collaborators

By the end of 2023:

  • Digitization of all paper documents
  • Replacement of office lights with more efficient products

By the end of 2024:

  • Purchase of an electric car for the company
  • Installation of photovoltaic panels and charging station

SOGESCA collaborations to offset CO₂ emissions

In relation to the support of carbon footprint reduction projects, foreseen by the MARC approach, we have activated an important collaboration with WOWnature.

In fact, every year we are committed to compensate the percentage of greenhouse gases that we have not yet managed to reduce from our emissions.
